Lived up to the hype

December 3rd, Monona Grove traveled to McFarland for what I anticipated would be a great game. The game did not disappoint and lived up to the hype. The game was intense from start to finish as the University of Iowa was in attendance to watch Teagan Mallegni. This 6'1 position less basketball player did not disappoint, she led all scores with 30 points and added 14 rebounds as she led Mcfarland to a 63-61 victory. Teagan showcased her array of skills from shooting the three to driving to the basket, posting up and mid range pull ups while also being the head of their zone press.

While watching Teagan perform, Monona Grove had a couple of players that impressed as well. Aubrey Smith, finished with 17 points and played bully ball around the basket and was looking to be aggressive and assetrtive. Abigail Inda had a swagger on the court that iI loved, she knows Teagan is a top player and she didn't care, she was determined to make it tough for her while still scoring 15 points. Although undersized she made Teagan work for everything. Lastly, Tia Justice, a spark plug off the bench that just works the entire time she is on the court. Tia was creating extra possessions for her team and drawing fouls by crashing the boards. This was a good game for the average fan but a great one for basketball enthusiasts. If you get the opportunity to check out either team, I strongly encourage you to see for yourself!
