Last week I took time to preview my thoughts on the Big 8 conference on the girls side and gave my predictions, now I want to spend some time talking about the upper echelon of my predictions. Today the focus is on the Madison East girls. The Madison East girls basketball program bring back two top Big 8 conference players and will be vital to their success this season, Kearra Jones and Kyla McCullers as well as welcome new head coach. Madison East replaced an alumni coach with another alumni coach Alysha Justice. Coach Justice brings along her brother and father to help prepare the team to compete in the conference. The Justice family is not unfamiliar with the East Purgolder family as they have been connected to my recollection to at least the 1990's.
Kearra Jones is a dynamic player that defends well and for her position can grab a rebound and lead the break. Kearra handles the ball well for her size and has the ability to get in the paint. No being an upperclassman it should be exciting to see her take the next steps in her game.
Kyla is a prototypical combo guard, she can spot up and shoot with the best of them but with the ball in her hand is a legit three level scoring threat! This duo will be fun to watch as Coach Justice teaches and installs her philosophies and system.
